Chicago SSI Attorneys

Illinois Social Security Disability benefits lawyers Ken Dobbs and Roger Hutchison are both 1992 graduates of the Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Ever since then, the firm's practice has focused on personal injury, as well as SSDI claims, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Claims, and other benefits programs administered by the Social Security Administration.

Kenneth P. Dobbs is a past President of the North Suburban Bar Association.  Roger Hutchison is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives, and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Chicago Bar Association's Social Security Law Committee. Both attorneys have successfully represented plaintiffs in many personal injury and negligence lawsuits and have also provided reliable and creative client service in Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income claims.

Chicago SSDI Claimant's Attorneys

We assist clients at all stages of the process, from the time after filing your initial claim to an appeal to the Federal District Court in Chicago. Many of our Social Security benefits clients hire us after they have had their claim denied for the second time. While we often are hired after the second denial, we also frequently represent claimants at earlier levels of the claims process.  In the initial stages, we can explain the differences between the different programs, and give you a good idea of what to expect. We can provide assistance with gathering your medical records. We can also monitor the progress of your case. Additionally, we can advise you on whether a delay at any point is normal, or indicates instead, that the claims administration office has encountered a problem with processing your claim.

After a second denial, we can represent you anywhere in Illinois, or even out of state, at a hearing before an administrative law judge, where we present evidence about your medical condition and vocational capacity. If your claim is denied at this stage, we can apply to the Appeals Council for reconsideration and a favorable result. If this appeal is unsuccessful, we can then represent you in an appeal in Federal District Court in Chicago.

There is never any charge to you until your claim is successful, and then we are paid a percentage of your back benefits that is approved by the Social Security Administration.
